Benefits of Using Uninterruptible Power Supply

The UPS or uninterruptible power supply is great tool to avoid sudden turning off of your appliances, computers and other electrical devices or equipment. It provides electrical current for your electrical device for up to five to twenty minutes. Such a fraction of time is enough to have your appliance or computer be turned off properly. For instance, if you are working with the use of a computer and then unexpected power brownout or blackout comes into place, you are given the time to save your computer works.

UPS allows the user of electrical device to be operated with safety by giving you time to safely shut those electrical devices down. Sudden turning off of the computer or any appliances can greatly cause damage or malfunctioning the next time they are used. Since UPS avoids destroying your electrical equipment or devices, it helps you save big bucks in buying another set. This is because UPS prevents power surge and power sag that would significantly ruin your computer or any equipment that consumes electricity.

There are two types of UPS namely standby UPS and continuous UPS. The difference between the two is the way that the electric current is passed through the electrical device. With standby UPS, the electrical device is supplied with the main power supply even if it passes through the equipment and the internal batteries. The power in the internal batteries is only utilized once the main power supply is down or blackouts.

With continuous UPS, the electrical device is supplied with the power through the internal batteries which is charged through the main power supply. This means that it can give power supply to the electrical device longer as long as the internal batteries never run out of electric supply.

What You Need to Know about Current Transformers

Current transformers are electrical device that aids in protecting your appliances at home or office. They provide flow of current in secondary circuit that is directly proportional to the amount of current in principal circuit. Current transformers are used to monitor the operation of power grid and calculate the current.

Electrical power industry utilizes current transformers for protective and metering purposes. The transformers manage the flowing of current especially if it comes from a high voltage-producing source. The well-insulated toroidal core being wrapped with windings of massive wires serve as the controlling passage of the electrical current, avoiding circuit overload. The power being used by a certain establishment is monitored because with this kind of transformer, you can have a view of how much current is flowing.

The physical configuration of current transformer, rating factor, and many others are factors that improve the accuracy of current transformer’s measurement and workability.

Ambient temperature is the basis of CT rating factor. The rating factor is used to identify the appropriate primary current measurable at maximum level. It regulates the current by multiplying the fill load. The current transformer would have low capacity in order to retain the level of precision in terms of measurement. The temperature of CT should have ranged from 35-55 degree Celsius.
